*Blessing Symbol*
The Blessing Symbol that is used in the game is known as The Jerusalem Cross, or Crusader’s Cross. The symbol is a renown Christian symbol featuring a large central cross surrounded by four smaller crosses, representing Jesus Christ’s spread through the four corners of the world, the Five Wounds of Jesus, and Christ’s four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) spreading the Gospel from Jerusalem. It was the emblem of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from the 13th century and symbolizes faith, pilgrimage, and the call to share Christianity globally.
WHAT IS SACRED ART?
Sacred art is an artistic expression of God’s transcendent mystery through various art styles to inspire faith, teach doctrine, and elevate the mind and heart to God. At the time of most historical art pieces, art was used as a vessel of communicating the faith for the illiterate and served as visual aids for prayer and devotion, from grand Church designs to small devotional images. These artistic creations throughout history made the invisible beauty of Christ and heavenly realities visible, drawing people into a deeper experience of the divine and fostering spiritual growth, acting as a doorway to the supernatural.
INTERCESSORS-
An intercessor is someone who prays, pleads, or intervenes on behalf of another person, group, or nation, acting as another source to seek divine help or favor as one who is in Grace with God. They take on burdens and petition God, as seen in the Old Testament with figures like Moses in the desert or New Testament like The Virgin Mary in the wedding at Cana.
MARTYRS-
A martyr is someone who suffers or dies for their faith in Jesus Christ, refusing to deny their beliefs even under persecution, and is seen as a “witness” to Christ and His Holy Church, echoing His sacrifice. Originating from the Greek word mártys (witness), early martyrs like St. Stephen died for testifying to Jesus Christ, becoming powerful symbols of unwavering faith, with martyrdom seen as a path to sainthood.
HOLY RELICS-
A holy relic is an object of Holy significance, often a physical remnant (like bone, hair, or clothing) or possession of a saint or Jesus Christ, preserved for veneration to feel closer to God. Holy relics are categorized with 3 categories:
First-Class: A part of the saint’s body (bone, blood, flesh) or a fragment directly from Jesus’ Passion.
Second-Class: An item that a saint regularly used, like clothing, a book, or a personal possession.
Third-Class: An object that has touched a first-class relic, or that a saint touched directly (contact relics).
SACRED PLACES-
A sacred place is a location revered for Holiness serving as a focus for worship, pilgrimage, or historical significance, whether naturally occurring (like a mountain) or man-made (like a temple).
