“The Handmaiden” symbolizes the humble servant of God who willingly submits to His will with faith and obedience. This spirit of humility is seen in figures such as Anna, the mother of Samuel, who entrusted her desires and sufferings to God through prayer.
The image of the handmaiden represents trust, devotion, and the willingness to place one’s life in God’s hands. Rather than seeking power or recognition, the handmaiden serves faithfully and allows God to accomplish His plans through her obedience.
