Repentance is the heartfelt turning away from sin and the return to God through faith, humility, and obedience. It stands at the center of Christ’s message, calling all people to conversion and new life. True repentance involves more than sorrow for wrongdoing; it includes a sincere desire to change, seek God’s mercy, and live according to His commandments.
From the beginning of His public ministry, Jesus proclaimed the need for repentance, teaching that the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand. He welcomed sinners, forgave the repentant, and rejoiced when the lost returned to God. Through His death and Resurrection, Christ opened the way for the forgiveness of sins and reconciliation with the Father.
Repentance remains essential to the Christian life, leading believers to spiritual renewal and deeper communion with God. It is a continual response to God’s grace, transforming the heart and drawing the soul closer to holiness.
