Saint Carlo Acutis was a young Italian Catholic known for his deep love of the Holy Eucharist, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and remarkable use of technology to evangelize. Born in London and raised in Italy, Carlo demonstrated an extraordinary faith from an early age. He attended Mass frequently, spent time in Eucharistic adoration, prayed the Rosary daily, and sought to help the poor and those in need.
Passionate about computers and technology, Carlo used his programming and web-design skills to create an online exhibition documenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He viewed the internet as a tool that could be used to spread the Gospel and bring people closer to God. His famous phrase, “The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven,” reflects the central place that Christ held in his life.
In 2006, Carlo died of leukemia at the age of fifteen. He offered his suffering for the Pope and for the Church. His joyful faith, charity, and witness to holiness in the digital age inspired millions of people around the world. He became a model for young Catholics seeking to live faithfully amid modern technology and culture.
