“Only Say the Word” recalls the faith of the Roman centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant. Recognizing Jesus’ authority, the centurion believed that Christ did not need to be physically present for the healing to occur. He declared himself unworthy for Jesus to enter his home, but trusted that a single command from Christ would be enough to bring healing (Matthew 8:5–13; Luke 7:1–10).
Jesus was amazed at this great faith, highlighting it as an example even among Israel. The servant was healed at that very moment, demonstrating Jesus’ authority over illness, distance, and all creation.
This moment emphasizes humility, trust in divine authority, and the power of Christ’s word alone to bring healing and restoration.
