Saint Felicity was an early Christian martyr who suffered alongside Saint Perpetua during the persecution of Christians in Carthage around AD 203. Though she was a servant and Perpetua was of noble birth, the two women were united in faith and friendship through Christ. While imprisoned, Felicity was pregnant and feared that her execution might be delayed because Roman law prohibited the execution of pregnant women. After giving birth to a daughter shortly before the scheduled martyrdom, she joyfully joined her fellow Christians in bearing witness to Christ. Felicity faced death with courage and unwavering faith, becoming a powerful example of perseverance, hope, and trust in God amid suffering.
St. Felicity was declared a saint through the early Church’s tradition of acclamation.
