Hatred is a serious sin, especially when it involves wishing evil or grave harm upon another person, violating the commandment to love your neighbor (or even enemies), but it’s distinct from disliking a person’s evil qualities (which isn’t always sinful) or a righteous indignation against evil itself; it’s fundamentally about actively desiring the detriment of a person rather than their good, rooted in a lack of charity, and becomes especially diabolical when directed at God or the sinner rather than the sin.
