Thievery violates the Seventh Commandment and is a serious offense against justice and charity. It encompasses not just taking things but unjust acquisition or keeping, including cheating, fraud, underpaying workers, and plagiarism, while extreme necessity (like starving) can sometimes mitigate the sin.
