Wrath is an excessive, disordered desire for vengeance, hate, or destruction, going beyond just correction or self-defense to a deliberate wish to harm or kill someone, violating charity and justice. While righteous anger (like Jesus cleansing the temple) can be good, wrath involves seeking revenge for unworthy reasons, disproportionate to the offense, or with intense, uncontrolled passion, alienating one from God and others.
