“Isaiah’s Vision” recalls the awe-inspiring revelation granted to the prophet Isaiah when he beheld the glory of the Lord seated upon His heavenly throne. Surrounded by seraphim crying out, “Holy, holy, holy,” Isaiah witnessed the majesty and holiness of God in the Temple. Overcome by fear and awareness of his own sinfulness, the prophet confessed his unworthiness before the divine presence.
One of the seraphim then purified Isaiah’s lips with a burning coal taken from the heavenly altar, symbolizing cleansing and consecration for God’s service. After being purified, Isaiah answered the call of the Lord with the words, “Here am I, send me.” This vision marked the beginning of his prophetic mission to proclaim God’s warnings, judgments, and promises to Israel.
Isaiah’s vision became one of the most powerful revelations of God’s holiness in Sacred Scripture and continues to symbolize purification, divine calling, and faithful obedience to God.
