Raising the Staff refers to the moment when Moses, at God’s command, stretched out his staff over the Red Sea, and the waters were miraculously divided, allowing the Israelites to escape from Egypt.
After the Israelites left Egypt, they found themselves trapped between the Red Sea and the approaching army of Pharaoh. The people were filled with fear, but God instructed Moses to lift his staff and stretch out his hand over the sea. In response to this act of obedience, the Lord caused the waters to part, creating a dry path through the midst of the sea.
The Israelites crossed safely, and when the Egyptian forces pursued them, the waters returned and overwhelmed the army. This event became one of the defining moments in Israel’s history, symbolizing God’s saving power, faithfulness, and victory over oppression.
