Fire & Brimstone refers to the divine judgment that came upon the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their grave wickedness. After rescuing Lot and his family from the city, God brought destruction upon the region by raining down sulfur and fire from heaven.
Before the judgment, Abraham interceded for the cities, asking whether God would spare them for the sake of the righteous. However, even ten righteous people could not be found there. God, in His mercy, sent angels to warn Lot and deliver him and his family before the destruction began.
The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah became one of the most powerful biblical symbols of divine justice and the consequences of persistent sin and rebellion against God. At the same time, the account highlights God’s mercy toward the righteous and His willingness to rescue those who trust in Him.
