The Immaculate Heart symbolizes the interior life, purity, love, and perfect devotion of the Blessed Virgin Mary toward God and toward her Son, Jesus Christ. Filled with grace and free from sin, Mary treasured the mysteries of Christ within her heart and remained perfectly united to God’s will throughout her life.
The Gospel presents Mary as pondering the works and words of God deeply within her heart, especially during the hidden life of Christ and His Passion. Her heart suffered alongside her Son as she stood faithfully at the foot of the Cross, sharing spiritually in His suffering with profound love and obedience. Because of her purity, humility, and maternal compassion, the Immaculate Heart became a powerful symbol of holiness, mercy, and faithful discipleship.
