Saint Mary Magdalene was one of the most devoted followers of Jesus Christ. After being freed by Christ from demonic oppression, she became a faithful disciple and accompanied Him during His public ministry (Luke 8:1–3). She remained with Jesus during His Passion and stood near the Cross when many others had fled (John 19:25).
Mary Magdalene witnessed Christ’s burial and was among the first to visit His tomb on Easter morning (Mark 16:1–8). There she encountered the risen Lord, who commissioned her to announce His Resurrection to the Apostles (John 20:11–18). Because of this role, Christian tradition has often called her the “”Apostle to the Apostles.””
Her life is a powerful witness to conversion, faithful discipleship, and unwavering love for Christ.
