Queen of Heaven

Card Type: Intercessor | Timeline: Trinitas
Overview:

Holy Mary, Queen of Heaven, is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in recognition of her unique role as the Mother of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. Christian tradition teaches that, having faithfully cooperated with God’s plan of salvation and having been assumed into heavenly glory, Mary shares in her Son’s heavenly reign. Her queenship is understood as a participation in Christ’s kingship, always pointing believers toward Him.

The title draws upon the biblical tradition of the queen mother in the Davidic kingdom, where the king’s mother held a place of honor and intercession. As the Mother of the Messiah, Mary is honored as Queen, not by her own power, but through God’s grace and her relationship with Christ.

Throughout Christian history, believers have sought Mary’s prayers and intercession, trusting that she continues to care for the Church as a loving spiritual mother. The title “”Queen of Heaven”” emphasizes her dignity, holiness, and closeness to her Son.
